Why Visit Norway: Fjords, Northern Lights
Nature is, indeed, the overarching theme of Norway. Fill your days with jaw-dropping adventures and even more astonishing vistas. Squeeze every last minute out of the Midnight Sun in the summer and experience the ethereal magic of the Aurora Borealis in the winter.
Feel the thread of Viking heritage that runs through the friendly, welcoming capital city of Oslo, established in 1000 AD and home to the Royal family.
In Bergen, walk amidst gable-end houses, through narrow alleyways and along bustling ports. Sample salmon and reindeer sausage at the fish market. (Tip: The train from Oslo to Bergen is the way to go, with more than 300 miles of spectacular scenery.)
Experience the thrill of the Flam Railway in Myrdal. Stay in picturesque Balestrand for the best introduction to the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway.
Head to the far north for dog sledding, snowmobiling and visiting with reindeer. Indescribably beautiful and rugged, yet with 21st-century comforts, that’s Norway.

Fun Facts About Norway: Midnight Sun, Land of Trolls
The Unique Natural Majesty of Norway
Norway is a haven for those seeking to connect deeply with the natural world. This majestic land, with its awe-inspiring vistas, offers a sanctuary that few places on Earth can match. Imagine glaciers, mountains, forests, and fjords coming together to create a landscape that many consider paradise.
One fascinating fact about Norway is that at its narrowest point, you could almost throw a stone across the country from Sweden! This unique feature only adds to the charm and wonder of this remarkable nation.
Norway’s Coastline: A Geographical Marvel
Norway’s coastline is a geographical wonder, offering some of the most intricate and longest stretches of shoreline in the world. When you include its fjords, bays, and islands, it spans approximately 63,000 miles, second only to Canada’s coastline. This extraordinary length is a testament to Norway’s unique landscape, characterized by deep-cut fjords, countless islands, and dramatic cliffs.
A Country of Contrasts
Norway’s contrasting phenomena of the Midnight Sun and Polar Night, with its accompanying Aurora Borealis, make it a unique destination for those who crave extraordinary experiences. Here, you can witness how light, and darkness coalesce to create unparalleled beauty, inviting you to explore, reflect, and be inspired.
Whether hiking under the endless daylight during the summer or marveling at the Northern Lights during the long winter nights, Norway offers a journey that promises to be as diverse and captivating as its landscapes.

Norway is a year round destination. June July and August are the best months to travel to Norway for fine weather. In March there may still be snow on the ground and it is a good time to visit for more daylight than during the winter, November is best to be avoided.
