Day 2- Istanbul

Experience the enchanting blend of old and new as you explore Istanbul, a city bridging Asia and Europe. 

Freedom of Choice Option 1: One of the most famous monuments in both the Turkish and Islamic worlds, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque (the Blue Mosque) is a superb creation in the classical Ottoman style and features six towering minarets and 260 windows illuminating its vast main chamber, which is decorated with more than 20,000 Iznik tiles.

Freedom of Choice Option 2: Hagia Sophia was built in the 6th century by the Emperor Justinian and was one of the largest basilicas in the Christian world. After the Ottoman conquest, it was converted to a mosque and is today one of the most magnificent Grand Mosques in the world. Take a few moments to linger here to admire the fine Byzantine mosaics.

In the late afternoon, board our luxurious private train, the Golden Eagle Danube Express, for a scenic rail journey through Bulgaria and Romania en route to Budapest.

Day 3- Veliko Tarnovo

Embark on a picturesque journey as we traverse the Shipka Pass and explore Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s historic capital. Admire stone houses perched along the Yantra River in a stunning mountain backdrop. Discover medieval Tsarevets Hill and Castle before wandering through ancient city alleyways. Unwind in our Bar Lounge Car as we travel through scenic landscapes towards the Romanian border.

Day 4- Sinaia & Brasov

Today, you will experience a breathtaking journey through the Carpathian Mountains on an overnight train, marveling at crystal-clear mountain streams along the way. Arrive in Sinaia this morning to explore the magnificent Peles Castle, a stunning masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture. Commissioned by King Carol I in 1873, this royal summer residence boasts 160 rooms adorned with exquisite European art and luxurious decor.

After lunch on our private train, we head to Brasov to visit Bran Castle in the afternoon. Perched high atop a rock and surrounded by mystery and legend, this 14th century castle is famous for its imposing towers and connection to Dracula lore. Explore the castle and its surroundings before enjoying a gala dinner within its walls tonight.

Day 5- Sighisoara & Sibui

Join us this morning in Sighisoara, a charming town rumored to be Dracula’s birthplace. Explore its cobblestone streets lined with historic burgher houses and ornate churches.

After lunch on the train, we’ll head to Sibiu, known for its stunning Germanic architecture in the Old Town, showcasing the legacy of 12th-century Saxon settlers. Don’t miss the medieval walls and towers, including the iconic Council Tower.

End your day with a Farewell Dinner on our private train as we journey across the Great Hungarian Plain.

Day 6- Kecskemet & Lajosmizse

Today, we journey through Hungary’s heart, starting with the enchanting city of Kecskemét and a thrilling ‘Puszta’ horse show in Lajosmizse.

Afterward, we’ll arrive in Budapest, the historic capital set along the stunning Danube River. Relax in luxury at the renowned Four Seasons Gresham Palace hotel for a memorable overnight stay.
